This West End renovation design at Skelton Lane showcases a builder-led design approach in collaboration with JDL Construction. The extension was carefully designed to blend seamlessly with the original home, creating a unified appearance and a natural flow throughout the layout.

The client’s brief centred on improving functionality and adding a professional home office with a custom bookshelf backdrop for international video calls. Therefore, we introduced a sensitive upper-level extension that feels like it has always been part of the home. In addition, the design increased bedroom capacity and restored outdoor spaces, ensuring every zone connects effortlessly.

Above all, the new spaces integrate perfectly with the existing structure. The stairwell window enhances natural light, while the bespoke bookshelf becomes a striking focal point that reflects the client’s profession as a writer. Moreover, the reconfigured layout delivers a smooth transition between old and new, balancing privacy and openness for family living.

This builder-led design collaboration ensured precision and harmony in every detail. As a result, the home now offers four bedrooms, a dedicated office, and improved outdoor areas, all presented in a cohesive, timeless style.
