Brisbane Building Design: Contemporary Home Transformation

This Brisbane renovation and extension redefines modern living through a bold second-storey addition. As a result the upper level introduces a master retreat with soaring raked ceilings, a walk-in wardrobe, and a spa-inspired ensuite. Three well-planned children’s bedrooms with integrated storage, a generous linen zone, a vibrant rumpus, and a sleek shared bathroom complete the design, including a discreet laundry chute for everyday convenience.

Custom design elements elevate the interiors, including a modern window seat in the master suite and statement bookshelves. Smart technology integrates seamlessly, with home automation, a 10kW solar system, and energy-efficient ducted air conditioning delivering comfort and sustainability.

On the ground floor, spatial flow was reimagined: a compact bedroom made way for a sculptural staircase framed by a feature screen, while the front living area was extended to create a welcoming sense of openness. The laundry and pantry were cleverly expanded beneath existing eaves, and the former master bedroom evolved into a tailored home office with generous desk space.

Externally, as a result of the renovation the home sheds its 1970s identity for a striking contemporary façade. A dynamic split-pitch skillion roof enhances street presence and in addition optimises northern orientation for solar performance. The extended carport roof seamlessly connects with the new upper level, creating a cohesive, modern frontage.
