This Norman Park renovation design at Thynne Avenue showcases a builder-led design approach in collaboration with
JDL Construction. The project delivered a cost-effective transformation tailored to a growing family’s evolving needs.
The brief focused on improving liveability. Therefore, we added a dedicated work-from-home office, reconfigured downstairs bedrooms, and upgraded the laundry. In addition, we preserved the client’s cherished rear timber deck while creating a new internal space below. This solution respected budget and enhanced functionality.
Ceiling height constraints and waterproofing challenges required innovative thinking. However, through builder-led design and close collaboration with JDL Construction, we achieved a seamless, certified outcome. Site access was extremely tight, so strategic slab pours and controlled demolition were essential. Moreover, the family remained living upstairs during construction, which demanded careful planning for safety and connectivity.
Unexpected issues such as blocked stormwater and outdated plumbing were resolved quickly and cost-effectively. As a result, the home now supports independent teenagers, dual remote work, and efficient daily living.
Standout design features:
- Engineered oak flooring,
- Shaker-style cabinetry,
- Hard-wired data points in the new office.
This project reflects our commitment to thoughtful building design and interior design, delivered through builder-led collaboration and client-focused solutions.
